We focus on niche insurance products for small and medium-sized commercial risks, initially focusing on workers’ compensation, with future expansion into other lines of business anticipated. BerkleyNet’s distribution network consists of select retail agencies, wholesalers and specialty distributors.

2007 Update BerkleyNet launched its online portal application in mid-2007 across seven states. During the year, we continued to expand utilizing a select distribution network of business partners consisting of retail, wholesale and specialty niche agencies in 13 states, primarily in the southeast and midwest. BerkleyNet's primary focus is on small and mid-sized workers' compensation risks across a risk appetite including construction, manufacturing, hospitality and service industries.

2008 Path Forward In 2008, BerkleyNet will continue to cultivate additional growth from its existing distribution partners while seeking new partners in the retail and wholesale segments. At the same time, the company will be expanding its specialty niche and affinity program business segments as well as seeking out additional business opportunities through established strategic alliances with other W. R. Berkley companies. BerkleyNet also expects to selectively expand the number of states it conducts business in, driven by the development of new business opportunities.
